What a great season it was!

The 2015/2016 hockey season marked the first of a three year partnership between Simons Valley Hockey Association and Country Hills Toyota – and what a great season it was.

Storm Truck Program
We kicked of the partnership and season with a customized 2014 Customized Storm Truck, “Storm Truck Loaner Program” and a website to support the program. We donated a 2014 Toyota Tundra and custom “Stormed” it. The concept, design and production was all done in-house and was completely unique.

We offered the customized Storm truck to SVHA members to rent – free of charge – to take to team events, drive to games or just be around the community in general. Country Hills Toyota also created and distributed lanyards to all SVHA Association Members that included several exclusive discounts in any of our businesses.

iPad Air Giveaway

The Storm Truck proved to be very popular amongst the SVHA members and took centre stage in two of our contests. The first was a season long Storm Truck photo contest in which participants took photos of themselves with the truck and posted them to Facebook. A winner was recently announced and Candice Pollock-Riggall netted a brand-new iPad Air for her entry.

Timbits Winter Classic Sponsorship

The second contest was one for the whole team. During the 7th Annual Timbits Winter Classic we launched our “Play 4 Keeps” contest, with a chance to win a set of personalized jerseys for the whole team. The Storm Truck was on display during the tournament at VIVO. Participating teams were tasked with taking of photo of their teams with the Storm Truck and posting it to the Country Hills Toyota Facebook page. From there it was up to their friends and families to get them as most “likes” as possible. After a very close contest, the SVHA Yellow Jackets came out on top and claimed the prize.

The 7th Annual Timbits Winter Classic was our first tournament with the SVHA and what a great time we had. Participating in the tournament were 8 home and 8 guest teams making for 246 players in total.

CHT staff was on-site during the tournament handing out swag and giving test-drives of Toyota and Scion products. After completing a test-drive, participants were awarded 250 Aeroplan miles as well as receiving two Toyota t-shirts and entered into a draw to win a Samsung tablet. Cindy took a test-drive with us during the tournament and ended up taking home a brand new tablet.

Bantam Kids Cancer Tournament
Acting as the premier sponsor for the 2nd annual SVHA Bantam Kids Cancer Care tournament was a great privilege for us at Country Hills Toyota. Proceeds from the tournament go directly to benefit the Kids Cancer Care Foundation of Alberta.

This year’s tournament was a huge success, almost doubling the money raised at last year’s tournament. This year’s total was a staggering $51,500. Country Hills Toyota further committed $25 for each vehicle sold in the month of March. The SVHA and the Kids Cancer Foundation of Alberta was presented with that donation at a ceremony on April 30th.

Part of the benefit that members of the SVHA receive from Country Hills Toyota is special discounts and promotions when they receive their lanyard at the start of the season. The end of the season doesn’t mean the end for those. The benefits continue until the start of the new season at which time SVHA members will receive a new lanyard.

Our first year with the Simons Valley Hockey Association was an unmitigated success. We would like to thank everyone in your association for an amazing experience. We look forward to next season and hope you are as well.
